Staying home??

So being a stay at home mom doesn't seem to really involve staying home for me. It seems everyday we are going or running somewhere. I try to use my time wisely, and accomplish alot in short spirts of time. Mondays seem to be the best day to try and plan being home all day. I am trying to have at least two days a week where we stay home all day.. It just doesn't always happen. Wed.we have church, THursdays are our small group mornings, Friday is Co-op day in Springfield, Sat. well that depends on Daddy and Sunday is church all day sometimes.. So that leaves Monday and Tuesday... Uh well, Tuesday ends up being our groceryday.. maybe i need some organization guidance. I don't feel like we do alot, but I feel like we are always going somewhere, or running errands for MWM. Life is good and I love it, but I think I need a few days of no commitments.. Maybe in OCT?

Ariyah turned 2 in June!

I can't believe my littel girl turned two this summer. She is the blonde :) The other girls are my nieces.

Ariyah is a beautiful littel girl with a lot of love to give. This post is going to be all about her, so if your not interested here is your chance to leave. Ariyah was born in June of 2007. She was perfect in everyway. I am serious, the delivery was picture perfect with no medication, (not even epidural) Ariyah was 6' 15", and 21 1/2 inches long. Ariyah even slept through the night that first week.

Then on July 6th we got a call from her doctor to redo her blood tests they did at the hospital. Not a problem right? Well, when we got there the nurse gave me a piece of paper for the lab tech. As I was walking to the lab, I read the paper. This is what it said

"30% mortality rate for SIDS, physical defects and Mental defects."

That is all I remember. My daughter was diagnosed with MCADD. This is a genetic disorder that basically she is unable to process her stored fats. The paper that I read on the way to the lab forgot to mention was "if not treated"

Ariyah is as healthy as any other two year old. She eats great and has enough energy for the whole family. She takes a medication twice a day called Carnitine, and is hospitalized for the flu, with glucose IV's.

Everyday i am reminded how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family. God is amazing and His plans are wonderful. My little girl has turned two years old, and acts like she is at least 11.

So here it goes..

Hi, My name is Melissa Stuemke. I am a wife to the most wonderful man I know, and a mommy to the most beautiful 2-year-old. (I am not biased at all) I was told I need to blog, I laughed at them, but I thought I would try this.

Life is great most of the time. My husband and I are currently living on my families old farm in a small rural town in IL. Jared (my wonderful man) MWM works very hard doing carpentry so that I am able to stay home. I am homeschooling my daughter Ariyah (2 years), and take care of finances and the few things we sell around here.

Life is a journey, and I believe God should be allowed to take us on that journey. We are never alone, God is always there to lean on.
